CODE ENFORCEMENT
There are multiple Ordinances that are designed to ensure a safe and sanitary community, as well as ensure properties are aesthetically pleasing, that properties retain their value, and that property owners take pride in ownership. The City of Gravette will always send a violation notification letter if your property is in violation of an Ordinance. Some of the more common code violations and associated Ordinances are listed below. The International Property Maintenance Code, adopted via Ordinance 13-06, establishes generally accepted building code practices and ensures a safe and aesthetically pleasing community by establishing standards for general maintenance of interior and exterior property area and structures; standards for ventilation, heating, and lighting; fire safety regulations; and sanitation standards, among other things.
Common Code Violations
The most common code violations are because of non-compliance with the following codes:

All exterior property areas shall be maintained in a clean, neat, safe, and sanitary condition.

All premises shall be graded and maintained to prevent the erosion of soil and to prevent the accumulation of stagnant water on or within any structure or property.

All premises and exterior property areas shall be maintained to be free from weeds or excessive plant growth.

All structures and exterior property shall be maintained in a way to keep free from rodent harborage and infestation.

No inoperable or unlicensed motor vehicle shall be parked, kept, or stored on any premises, and no vehicle shall be in a state of disassembly, disrepair, or being stripped or dismantled.

All swimming pools shall be maintained in a clean and sanitary condition; pools, hot-tubs, and spas containing water more than 24” in depth shall be completely surrounded by a fence at least 48 inches in height.

All exterior surfaces shall be protected from the elements and decay by painting or other protective treatment or covering.

Buildings shall have approved address numbers in a position to be plainly legible or visible from the street or road.

Exterior property areas shall be free from any accumulation of rubbish or garbage.

Disposal of garbage shall be in a clean and sanitary manner in approved containers. Burning of garbage is not allowed.

Interior appliances of any type shall not be kept or stored on the exterior premise
